Objectives: East Asians have a different facial contour from their Caucasian counterparts. Asians also have thicker and more compact dermis, which resists the formation of fine and dynamic wrinkles. However, the downside of thicker skin is sagging, which resists threading, which might work well in Caucasians. However, Asian patients’ unmet needs may drive them to seek aggressive rejuvenation procedures. Asian patients also mistakenly believe that threads will magically “lift” their faces, akin to pulling their skin upward with their fingers.
Introduction: Asians' most frequent complaints regarding absorbable thread facial lifting are mainly related to unsatisfactory appearances, such as midface widening and short-lived effects.
Materials / method: In this presentation, we will share several innovative approaches with potential advantages proposed by Asian experts.
