Objectives: Apresentar uma série de casos de patologias palpebrais benignas tratadas com sucesso utilizando o laser de CO2, o Er:yag e o Nd:yag.

Introduction: O tratamento de patologias benignas com laser é reconhecido por sua abordagem não invasiva, oferecendo vantagens significativas como alta precisão, mínima lesão ao tecido adjacente, redução do risco de infecção e rápida recuperação.

Materials / method: Neste estudo, apresentamos uma série de casos de patologias palpebrais benignas tratadas com sucesso utilizando o laser de CO2, o Er:yag e o Nd:yag. As patologias tratadas incluem xantelasma, siringoma, hemagioma, nevo e cicatrizes palpebrais. Apresentamos os protocolos de tratamentos adotados para cada caso, acompanhados de imagens ilustrativas que mostram os resultados imediatamente após e em acompanhamento a longo prazo. A aplicação do laser foi realizada sob anestesia tópica, no próprio consultório.

Results: A escolha do laser utilizado para cada lesão foi determinada com base em fatores como a natureza da lesão, sua localização, cor e o tipo de pele do paciente. Para o tratamento de alguns casos foram necessários mais sessões. Os pacientes usualmente relataram um desconforto mínimo durante o procedimento e puderam retomar suas atividades cotidianas com brevidade.

Conclusion: Os tratamentos realizados se mostraram extremamente seguros e eficazes, não sendo observadas complicações significativas em nenhum dos casos tratados, reforçando o perfil de segurança e a eficácia desse método terapêutico.

Objectives: Non-medical practitioners performing aesthetic procedures have become a concerning issue, leading to various complications. This paper presents a case series detailing four instances of complications following plasma jet treatment administered by non-medical professionals in Uberlândia. The complications observed included keloids, ectropion, and persistent erythema among the patients. The primary objective of this report is to highlight the ethical and legal aspects surrounding aesthetic medicine and the ensuing legal implications when addressing such complications.

Introduction: Complications arising from non-medical practitioners in aesthetic procedures are increasing. This case series from Uberlândia-MG, can elucidating these cases, and we aim to raise awareness among patients regarding the risks associated with aesthetic procedures and provide guidance to medical professionals on appropriate management strategies. This study underscores the importance of patient education (period between iatrogenesis and seeking specialized care ranged from 20 days to 1 year) and the necessity for stringent regulations to ensure the safety and efficacy of aesthetic interventions.

Materials / method: Case 1 – A 44-year-old female patient, Fitzpatrick skin type IV, presented for medical consultation on the nineteenth day after undergoing laser treatment (plasma jet) at a non-medical facility. Dermatological examination: thinning of the lower eyelids, persistent erythema, bilateral eyelid retraction, two areas with thickened skin suggestive of hypertrophic scarring, mild cicatricial ectropion with separation of the eyelid margin from the globe, and inferior punctate keratopathy.
In 2023, I received three additional clinical cases of the same nature. The most severe was permanent ectropion.

Results: Case 1 was addressed from the outset, with follow-up by a multidisciplinary team, including hyperbaric therapy, ophthalmological evaluation, and plastic surgery assessment: all opted for conservative treatment. Radiofrequency device was performed to assist with healing, and the patient initiated legal proceedings against the aesthetic team. We decided to await the conclusion of legal proceedings before proceeding with Nd:YAG laser treatment for persistent erythema. Of the other 3 cases, one received treatment with a radiofrequency device, Nd:YAG laser, and botulinum toxin for keloids.

Conclusion: In conclusion, legal medicine plays a pivotal role in addressing permanent deformities resulting from aesthetic procedures. Dermatologists must cautiously navigate such cases, considering the ethical, legal, and clinical implications. Additionally, accepting cases of complications from non-medical practitioners carries legal and ethical risks. However, safe and conservative treatments are available, including laser therapy and botulinum toxin, administered by qualified medical professionals. It is imperative to prioritize patient safety and well-being while navigating these complex situations.

Objectives: Understand MLA and LIOB/LIC effects in skin of color when combined with mnrf and tca cross to treat acne scars.
Use of nanosecond laser to achieve picosecond laser end points and exploring it as a new and effective avenue as a less downtime combination treatment in skin of color

Introduction: As acne scar is
a result of deep inflammation Multiple treatment modalities for surgical to nonsurgical, peels to lasers and energy-based devices, and ablative to nonablative fractional and nonfractional are available in our armamentarium to improve acne scars Of all the various modalities available, nanosecond lasers are available for the longest period and now with the latest advances are able to improve most acne scars. Combination of technologies when used sequentially or rotationally improves outcome, thus minimizes side effects. The results are better lasting.

Materials / method: We have achieved picolaser end points with nanosecond lasers to improve acne scars and skin texture as a monotherapy and conjunct therapy with mnrf and tca cross.
With the advantage of short pulse durations and gaussian beam profile we have treated patients of darker skin type on the highest of energy with varying passes till the end points achieved keeping the scar type and skin type of patient in mind.

Results: Results were appreciable in skin texture improvement as a monotherapy alone and were great in acne scars when combined with mnrf and tca cross and the beauty was having lesser downtime.We have been able to achieve appreciable results in improving texture of the skin even in patients with rosacea also.

Conclusion: Nanosecond mla toning induced LIOB/LIC can give picosecond laser end points without any adverse events in skin of color with the gaussian beam profile 10mm spot size even on the highest of the energy if the laser Power supply is constant,with the pulse duration of 2-3ns.,which further gives improvement in skin texture and acne scars as a monotherapy and combination therapy with mnrf and tca cross as and when required with the Lowest downtime and offers a new avenue with the same device with the cost affordability specially in countries like india.

Objectives: Evaluate non-invasive treatments for lipedema through patients' experience and their improvement in life quality, self-esteem and body measures. We evaluated 20 patients that were submittted to cryolipolysis in legs, buttocks, calves and arms. All the patients were diagnosed with lipedema by an experienced vascular surgeon.

Introduction: Lipedema is a chronic feminine disease that causes abnormal fat deposition in lower limbs and occasionally upper limbs. Lipedema patients suffer from both physical and psychological disability. Despite the relatively high prevalence (about 20% in some female populations) and the impact on the quality of life, little is known about the disease.
There is no known curative therapy for lipedema. The primarily focus of treatment is to reduce its related lower extremity symptoms, disability, and functional limitations to improve patients’ quality of life, as well as preventing disease progression.

Materials / method: There is an increasing awareness of this condition, mainly due to social media. Therefore, dermatologists and aesthetic physicians are constantly facing patients with these symptoms, and they have little or no knowledge about diagnosis and managing these patients.
We performed cryolipolysis in 20 patients in legs, buttocks, arms and calves; combined with the conservative treatment, that includes oral medication and life habits changes. The results were demonstrated by ultrassound exams, body measures and patients' perception of improvement.

Results: We studied more than 20 cases at our clinic that were surgery candidates, but they didn’t want to submit themselves to this invasive treatment. At the end of the conservative treatment purposed by our team, they presented considerate improving on physical satisfaction, quality of life, body measures and fat consumption documented in ultrasound.

Conclusion: We purpose a new, available, easily reproducible and affordable treatment with significant and long-term results in aesthetic complaints regarding this disease. This study is a continuation of our work presented at IMCAS PARIS 2024 in body shaping session.

Objectives: The objective of this presentation is to demonstrate the treatment of severe acne scars and patients outcome, using three different techniques, each of them using a different needle device in the same procedure.

Introduction: Scars are the most serious consequence of acne, being related to low self-esteem, depression, low academic performance, anxiety, as well as a risk factor for suicide in these patients. The polymorphism of the lesions and tissue changes make treating acne scars a challenge. The technique of percutaneous collagen induction remodels scars through the perforation of the skin and consequent triggering of the wound healing cascade and preservation of the epidermis. Radiofrequency with multineedles can enhance results in depressed scars. Dermal tunneling breaks fibrotic beams and stimulate collagen.

Materials / method: 30 patients with severe acne scars were treated with the triple needle technique. Lorazepam 1mg was given orally 1h prior to the procedure. 7,5g topical 4% lidocaine was rubbed com the face and repeated after 30 minutes. After cleaning of the skin with aqueous chlorhexidine, the entire face was anesthetized with a 2% lidocaine solution with vasoconstrictor and saline solution in a 1:1 ratio, respecting the maximum dose per patient weight. Radiofrequency with multineedles was applied to distrofic scars, followed by dermall tunelling and deep injury medical needling with a 2,5mm roller.

Results: 22 women and 8 man were treated with 1 to three sessions treatment of the triple needle technique. 81% considered their results were great, 11% medium and 7% poor. 86% of the patients reported improvement of their self esteem. 4% had transient hyperchromia and none of the reported persistent hypercromia. One patient, 7%, had severe contact dermatitis.

Conclusion: Triple needle technique seems to be an efficient and secure method for treating severe acne scars with high rates of satisfaction and low rates of adverse events with patients reporting improvement of their self esteem. The disadvantages of the technique are the need for infiltrative anesthesia and being a long and laborious treatment.

Objectives: Demonstrate the effect of a technique based on restructuring and redensification of the midface, with the application of injectable hybrids with adequate rheological properties, achieving favorable results in patients, with lower injection volumes.

Introduction: During the development of facial aesthetic medicine and especially in facial rejuvenation, the possibility of multiple injectable treatments has been developed to improve volume loss, projection or stimulation of collagen, in patients who present a physiological process of facial aging, having into account, the middle third as a specific therapeutic target, however, this requires high injection volumes, multiple syringes, greater risk to patients and tends to generate a negative economic impact for all of them.

Materials / method: An injection technique for the middle third of the face is presented based on sequential structural points of the face and redensification areas, using low volumes of hybrid products, combined with amino acids or collagen biostimulators, with adequate rheology, with the aim of treating the main anatomical changes generated by facial aging, while generating redensification of facial tissues.

Results: The results are presented with photographic analysis in treated patients, improving the objectivity of the evaluation, determining volumetric changes, vector analysis and superficial changes of the skin, evidencing significant improvement at the facial level in all treated patients, along with impact on the lower third and neck when using this technique together with hybrid products.

Conclusion: It is demonstrated how the application of smaller volumes of injectable hybrids, in a restructuring and redensification technique, allows optimal results for our patients when treating the midface.
