Objectives: Our goal is to highlight the importance of anatomical knowledge in hair transplantation to achieve a hairline so natural that it becomes indistinguishable from a naturally occurring hairline.
Introduction: An optimal hairline is not solely defined by an appropriate and natural design. It also depends on:
The selection of ideal follicular units (considering color, thickness, integrity during harvesting, and proper storage).
The technique used for incisions (density, size, depth, and direction).
The placement of follicular units (using the ideal instrument, ensuring the correct position and depth).
Postoperative care (avoiding traction and managing potential folliculitis).
This presentation is limited to describing the ideal hairline in Caucasian males.
Materials / method: Not applicable.
Results: We present photographs and videos demonstrating the natural results achievable with the described technique.
Conclusion: Hairline naturalness depends on multiple factors. Its design is the first step toward achieving a truly natural result.
