Objectives: You should know the cause of facial asymmetry and the changes in the movement of the muscles of the face that occur when facial asymmetry occurs.
A filler bolus replaces lost structure, increasing mechanical advantage of the levator muscle. The levator’s movement is facilitated. This reduces sagging and balances contraction of the depressor, halting the chain of events triggered by aging.
Introduction: Symmetry is correlated with attractiveness and self-confidence.
Exogenous factors such as prone sleep position, tooth extractions, dentures, and smoking are significant risk factors for facial asymmetry.
As you get older, the volume of your face decreases and your skin gets wrinkled and sagged. In this process, the asymmetry of the face also deteriorates. In order to correct facial asymmetry due to aging process, it is necessary to inject a hard filler to restore the volume of the middle face.
Materials / method: There are three patient cases with facial asymmetry. Commonly, they have a nasal tip deviation and oral commissure asymmetry .Mostly, a high viscoelastic and cohesive filler was used for the procedure, and pictures were taken before and after the procedure.
Results: Asymmetry was corrected by multiple filler procedures for the entire face. In particular, lateral SOOF, tear trough, zygomatic arch, subzygomatic depression, oral commissure, and nasal deviation were corrected by injection of filler, and patient satisfaction was high.
Conclusion: Patients with facial asymmetry can correct facial asymmetry by injecting a hard filler into the deep layer below the muscle to restore muscle strength and restore volume. I call this a filler volume lifting.
