Objectives: Laser has become an very important tool of dermatology and aesthetic medicine. The laser technology has rapidly developed with emergence of multiple new technology, which enable more effective treatment with less risk of side effects. This development too has resulted in the emergence of wide array of laser brands and types.

Introduction: Similar lasers from different brands using the same settings may produce different clinical results. Even more challenging, the same laser after servicing can produce a different energy output, and it may not always exactly as shown on the display.

Materials / method: Laser in dermatology and aesthetic medicine requires a significant learning course, starting from the understanding of laser physics to laser hazards. This understanding is essential in choosing and purchasing the correct laser. Unique energy settings are also required for every treatment indication depending on the Skin Photo-type and target color.

Results: Thorough knowledge of the laser machine, treatment target, patients’ characteristics will determine treatment success.

Objectives: Phototherapy has become a treatment of choice in many areas of medicine. Light can deliver energy to tissue selectively targeting specific structures in order to induce the desired therapeutic outcome. For the safe and effective removal of unwanted hair, the key optical parameters are wavelength, pulse duration and energy density, and can vary dependant upon the skin and hair colour. In recent years the use of broad spectrum white light sources has proved to be safe and efficacious in the removal of hair with minimal short or long term side effects.

Objectives: Background
 Transdermal therapeutics delivery has great advantages for dermatological therapy. We have been used liposomes as carriers can provide a high transdermal effect. Liposomes formed lipid bilayer with natural phospholipids are biologically inert and weakly immunogenic, and they possess low intrinsic toxicity.

Introduction: In this study, we have used CO2 Fractional Laser as percutaneous absorption device, liposomes as transdermal carrier, and by a combination of them, aimed at improving the skin permeability of CF, OVA-FITC. Next, to develop temperature-responsive (TR) liposomes to achieve temperature-dependent, controlled release of encapsulated drug, and use fractional laser irradiation to enhance transdermal permeability of these liposomes.

Materials / method: We aimed to develop a percutaneous absorptive preparation that enables controlled release of internal capsule by temperature and increased skin permeability by using temperature responsive liposome modified with temperature responsive polymer to liposome.

Results: On laser irradiated skin, the transmittance was greatly increased as compared with unirradiated skin, and a response of permeability by power was confirmed
From the results of cell experiments, cell uptake was greatly improved by encapsulating OVA in liposomes
The skin permeability of unmodified liposomes was higher than that of polymers modified with polymers
Unmodified liposomes are thought to have lipids adsorbed / fused to the epidermis and permeated, and polymer-modified liposomes are permeated after release of the inner seal in solution.

Conclusion: By using liposomes and laser in combination, cell uptake of peptide and improvement and control of skin permeability became possible, and We think this research is a useful concept.

Objectives: UPDATES ON TREATMENT OF PIGMENTARY DISORDERS IN DARK SKIN

Introduction: Dark skin is often considered to be more resistant to the effects of the sun’s rays and thanks to the larger volume of melanin present this can be true when it comes to the development of lines and wrinkles. However, sun exposure is one of the most prominent causes of hyperpigmentation in all skin types. Two of the most common pigmentation problems that occur in people with darker skin tones are melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Materials / method: We have discussed various procedures including peels, lasers and combination treatments to treat pigmentation problems in dark skin types

Conclusion: : Pigmentary disorders continue to be a large part of a busy medical dermatology practice, effecting patients of all skin types. Treatment can be challenging, and slow response can lead to patient frustration. More randomized, controlled trials are needed to evaluate the efficacy of up and coming treatments in the diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions, such as melasma

Objectives: Because of reduced downtime and lowered risks of hyperpigmentation, the utilization of picosecond lasers has extend from pigment removal to acne scar treatment. However, some limitations are observed when acne scars of more severe types coexists in one individual.
CO2 fractional lasers have demonstrated good performance on acne scar patients, but sometimes prolonged erythema and longer downtime can be undesirable especially when applied for a whole-face treatment.
By combing both devices, downtime and undesirable effects can be greatly reduced without compromising the performance.
