Objectives: Introducing dermoscopy and trichoscopy to the dermatology private practice improves the quality of the service provided, can be charged monetarily and has a positive impact on the clinic's income.

Introduction: Dermoscopes come in various sizes, from the affordable handheld devices to the more advanced and expensive videodermatoscopes with special software.
Many dermatologists refrain from using dermoscopy at their practice, as its proper usage requires extensive training, is an extra procedure performed at the clinic with additional time allocated to it, with no monetary reimbursement.

Materials / method: However, there are plenty of opportunities to leverage the use of dermoscopy in daily private practice.

Results: It proved its value repeatedly when putting a concrete diagnosis to a complaint receiving various therapies with unsuccessful outcome without the need for the invasive biopsy taking; such as scabies in the clean. For chronic diffuse hair fall complaints videodermatoscopy with its associated software for hair diameter and hair density measurements can identify the cause immediately. Thus, patients then tend to be more compliant to prescribed therapy, and return to monitor the treatment progress by trichoscopy.

Conclusion: Introducing Dermoscopy in private practice improves the quality of the service provided by not relying solely on unaided visual inspection, which patients appreciate. Introduction: Body shapingg uses different techniques, including cryolipolysis, radiofrequency, HIFU (High Intensity Focalised Ultrasounds), surgery and also microwaves.
This new technology makes it possible to treat localized fat, cellulite and skin laxity.
There is also a case of lipoma treated with this technique reported

Materials / method: Microwaves are high-frequency electromagnetic currents (in the range of 1 to 100 GHz) that cause a localized increase in fat tissue temperature through a selective increase in molecular oscillation.The magnetic field delivered by microwaves in biological tissue causes a permanent disturbance in the alignment of molecules. The resulting high friction between the cells produces oscillation and vibration phenomena, resulting in the heating of the tissues to 50-55°C ,allowing a remodeling and a non-invasive treatment of localized fats, without danger to the skin.

Results: The results of a study evaluating the effect of 4 microwave sessions at one week intervals (1) showed, at week 8, a median reduction in abdominal circumference of 3.90 cm (extremes 7-1.5 cm) at the abdominal level and 2.8 cm at the trochanteric level (extremes 2.5-3)(Bonan, P., Marini, L., & Lotti, T. (2018)).

Results after one year experience

Conclusion: Microwaves are an active technique on localized fat, cellulite, skin sagging. It is not very time-consuming (8-10 minutes per 15 x 15 cm area), painless and has few side effects. It can be used alone, or as a complement to cryolipolysis, associated with the latter, in case of failure or rebound effect, or if the area to be treated is not compatible with the cryolipolysis handpieces.
It could be also interesting to use this method to reduce subcutaneous lipomas .

Objectives: To learn about the potential advantage of the new fractional Q switched lasers over the classic fractional lasers

Introduction: Fractional Q switched and pico-second lasers are new tools in the armentarium of the laser practitioners. Fractional phtotothermolysis has been introduced more than 10 years ago and has been well documented as an effective tool for rejuvenation and scar treatment however it becomes challenging when treating patients with dark skin or when treating patients who are concerned about down time.

Materials / method: With the Q switched fractional lasers, the thermal effect is absent as it is a mechanical ablation. With the absence of thermal effect, the incidence of hyperpigmentation is minimized and at the same time the down time is reduced significantly.

Results: The potential use of this technology could be scar treatment, rejuvenation, benign pigmented lesions treatment, tattoo removal as well as any other indication of fractional lasers. Many clinical trials are being conducted to evaluate the best parameters and the clinical expectations of this new mode of fractional lasers.

Conclusion: Will this new technology replace the classic fractional lasers is a question to be answered within the coming few years.
