Objectives: Before doing a hair transplantation we need to confirm the clinical diagnosis and to collect all the hair and scalp parameters and select one or various adequate procedures for each individual case.

Introduction: The goal of a hair transplantation is not only to get the immediate satisfaction of your patient but to get a good understanding of his baldness evolution with a follow-up and appropriate treatments and a precise diagnosis of this alopecia.

Materials / method: - Objective evaluation:
*digital trichoscopy (Tricholab®) for a diagnosis of the alopecia : androgenetic, cicatricial alopecia or telogen effluvium
*digital phototrichogram (Trichoscale®) for an evaluation of hair and scalp parameters to calculate the number of hair and follicular unit available
* multifactorial classification for a measurement of bald and hairy areas
* microbiopsy for histological findings

- Hair treatment:
· medical treatment and hair transplant planning
· FUE motor punch harvesting with or without shaving
· FUT or FUL long hair strip procedure without shaving

Conclusion: The results depend of the donor area quality and capacity, the extent of the recipient area, the choice of the hair transplant technique, the aesthetic desire of the patient and the potential baldness evolution.
To get the best improvement with hair transplantation it is essential to handle all the procedures and to select them according to a precise individual hair and scalp check-up and an appropriate treatment plan.

Objectives: The aim of this presentation is to assess the efficacy and safety of definitive hair transplantation in the treatment of definitive alopecia after various cancer treatments such as endocrine therapy, after breast cancer or scalp radiotherapy after brain tumor.

Introduction: Alopecia is one of the most common adverse events caused by numerous anticancer agents or radiotherapy. Alopecia in cancer patients is not a life-threatening event, it has a significantly negative psychological and social impact.The incidence of alopecia in patients treated after cancer is frequent. The efficacy of Minoxidil in endocrine-therapy induced alopecia has been reported if there is some remaining or vellus.

Materials / method: Various definitive alopecia (cicatricial or not) have been grafted with “follicular unit long hair” technique. With this technique a strip of unshaved hair is harvested from the donor area, segmented into follicular units under stereomicroscope and transplanted into the recipient area.
The hair density, thickness and growth rate were assessed with a digitalized phototrichogram on the donor area (trichoscale®).
The efficacy on global hair coverage was assessed by the surgeon and patient themselves.

Conclusion: Androgenetic endocrine-therapy induced alopecia after breast cancer or definitive post radiotherapy alopecia after brain tumor are not rare. Hair transplantation has demonstrated its efficacy for the long term treatment of this kind of alopecia. Since no shaving is needed with “follicular unit long hair” technique, this is particularly recommended in women. For male it can be used the follicular unit excision procedure after a prior shaving. The advantages of hair transplantation are the long-lasting effect, the poor side effects and the absence of compliance issue.

Objectives: The objectives of this lecture is to share my knowledge of important points is framing of a face, while doing a hair restoration. As a cosmetic procedure, one would like to look young and better. To make that happen, framing of the face is the most important consideration and one also have to keep in mind the limitation of the donor area and further planning.

Introduction: Hair loss is a never ending phenomenon, so a hair restoration surgeon is in constant battle between the future hair loss and the area that needs and would need to be covered in future. With these points in mind the surgeon has to balance between being too aggressive in bringing down the hair line or taking up the hair line. this delicate balance to frame the face is the key factor one would like to learn long before they learn the technique of hair restoration.

Materials / method: In this dy of global village, medical tourism, one would face many ethnic origin patients walking through the door for a consult and then a procedure. Although there area some basic concepts of framing a face that would fit in all ethnic origins but some important factors have to be also considered. There are other minor factors that can be present in any ethnic race, mainly the skull shape and those also need to be considered when a surgeon is looking for framing of a face for a procedure.
The frontal point, is the key beginning point. But, it can be move up or down based on skull shape .

Results: keeping these parameters in mind, one will see how a face is framed and how even severe hair loss patients can be given a very youthful appearance .
