Objectives: The aim of the study is to establish a protocol for the treatment and prevention of skin aging using combined techniques of peeling, a cocktail of biomimetic peptides vehicularized by microneedling and conventional biorevitalizing mesotherapy with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid of high molecular weight (2700-3000)KDa in a single session.

Introduction: The prevention and treatment of aging for each of the layers of the skin has led us to create the new concept of Mesosynergy, where we are going to offer each layer of the skin a personalized treatment covering the functional and morphological needs for which epidermis and dermis are characterized. The combined treatment was: a chemical peel in the epidermis, microneedling applied to the epidermis and superficial dermis, and injection of a non-cross-linked high molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the deep dermis.

Materials / method: A combined peel whit composition is based in a modified Jessner formula (lactic acid 12.6 %, Citric acid 8.0% and Salicylic acid 2.0%) was performed in the facial area, prior to microneedling carried out with biomimetic peptides and it was finished by injecting 3.2 ml (HMWHA) distributed between the face and neck with 30G/4 mm needles in 11 volunteers of both sexes (8 female and 3 men). In total, 3 sessions once a month.

Results: At the end of the treatment, an improvement in elasticity of 9.7%, an improvement in elastic recovery capacity of 10.6%, and a decrease in melanin of 5.4% compared to the baseline state, evidenced by the Cutometer® and Mexameter® probes, were evidenced.

Conclusion: Despite the limited number of patients and the short follow-up time, the MESOSYNERGY protocol has demonstrated its effectiveness and safety for the treatment and prevention of aging.

Objectives: Photoaging is characterised by premature ageing, produced mainly by sun exposure classically attributed to UVA radiation, accumulated throughout individual’s life. This phenomenon is added to the body’s own intrinsic ageing process and involves a series of physiological, morphological and structural changes in the skin.

Introduction: Photodamaged skin or dermatoheliosis referres to a group of clinical manifestations that are characterized by formation of atrophic skin, deep wrinkles, lentigines, yellow, leathery, cobblestone skin, telangiectasias, senile purpura, photoinduced dermatoses etc.. Histological changes include solar elastosis, collagen fragmentation, irregular and reduced epidermal and dermal thickness, increase of inflammatory markers, melanogenesis disorders.

Materials / method: We performed the treatment protocol over 18-weeks with 7 in-clinic-sessions followed by a specific home care programme. The clinical protocol consisted of mesotherapy, filler treatments with cross-linked HA and chemical peelings. The home treatment consisted of 1% retinol and moisturising/regenerating topicals including consistent and very high UV protection. The patient showed a high level of compliance which allowed optimal results.

Results: An improvement in the reduction of the depth of wrinkles was evidenced with 3D images, with a change of age calculation by VISIA from 74 years old before the treatment to 44 years after treatment. There was also an improvement in skin firmness of 27% in the malar area, a reduction in melanin of 17%, an improvement in WSRS/Glogau/GAIS/Fitzpatrick scales and “evident improvement” in researcher/patient efficacy questionnaires.

Conclusion: With this case of severe photo aging we showcase that a non-invasive and sustainable combination treatment protocol using injectables and chemical peels can be highly effective to safely turn back the clock on facial aging.

Objectives: The objective of this presentation is to understand beauty on a deeper level. The audience will learn why, when we look at an object in nature or look at a person's face, we perceive it as beautiful. The audience will also learn how the interactions of math, science, visual processing, and emotion relate to our perception of beauty, and be able to apply learned principles to their everyday aesthetic practices. They will also learn the important impact looking and feeling beautiful has on their patients' emotional well-being and success in life.

Introduction: When we see an object in nature or a person's face, we know when it is beautiful. But why? What occurs within your visual system, your brain and your environment to affirm that something or someone is beautiful? And what impact does looking and feeling beautiful have on patients?

Conclusion: Beauty is a perception, rooted in mathematics and science, that is based on visual processing and evoked emotions. We are programmed to be attracted to beauty, which serves as a survival mechanism. Yet, our perception of beauty can be influenced by environmental inputs. Looking and feeling beautiful is important, as it positively correlates with occupational and social success.
