Objectives: 1. Brief overview of the pathophysiology of genetic hair loss in women
2. Brief overview of current available treatments for genetic hair loss in women
3. Outline of a powerful combination for hair restoration

Introduction: Genetic hair loss is a very common problem in women. Current interventional treatments have mixed success and studies on long-term outcomes are missing. In this presentation an overview of a powerful combination utilizing pro threads and fractional radiofrequency will be provided.

Materials / method: Over 25 patients with genetic hair loss were treated with this method over a 5 year period with stable results when maintenance treatments are performed every 12 months.

Results: Over 85% of patients have shown stable results with one session every year.

Conclusion: This is a promising treatment that results in excellent improvement of density in genetic hair loss in women.

Introduction: The pathogenesis of hair loss is well defined; it is characterized by a decrease in hair synthesis and an increase in follicle breakdown, mediated by metalloproteinase’s. This net loss in hair volume and production is believed to contribute to and/or Alopecia. Biologic factors that are involved in wound healing might provide benefits for hair loss. Accordingly, growth factors, peptide fragments, and other biologically active molecules are being incorporated into anti-hair loss cosmeceuticals

Materials / method: AQ hair complex product was used to evaluate 29 patients both males and females of different age groups.
Periscope and photos were used to evaluate hair growth and distribution. We also used VISIA to measure hair count and microscope to measure hair width/thickness

Results: 93% improvements were observed among all patients with 30% improvement on hair thickness.

Conclusion: Growth factors are typically peptides with diverse biological effects. Some growth factor families that have been identified as useful in wound healing and/or epidermal remodeling include, e.g., transforming growth factor- ß (TGF- ß), epidermal growth factor, insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and fibroblast growth factors (FGFs). This study corroborates the idea that the topical application of growth factors and cytokines are beneficial in reducing hair loss and promoting hair re-growth. Moreover, growth factors have been shown to restore hair growth.

Objectives: The study examined the clinical outcomes of a multicentric, observational, retrospective, case-series investigation in which Microneedling (MND) with Low-Level Led Therapy (LLLT) and Growth Factors (GFs) as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) were applied to patients suffering from androgenic alopecia (AGA)

Introduction: A procedure based on Microneedling (MND) with Low-Level Led Therapy (LLLT) and
Growth Factors (GFs) such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) could be a booster for hair re-growth (HRG) in patients affected by Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA).

Materials / method: Twenty-one patients were initially enrolled, of which seventeen males were classified in stage II-IV by the Norwood–Hamilton scale, and four females were classified in stage I by the Ludwig scale. One male patient was excluded after screening (exclusion and inclusion criteria evaluation). Twenty patients were analyzed. Hair regrowth (HRG) assessment was evaluated with photography, physicians, and
patient’s global assessment scale, in addition to standardized phototrichograms during a follow-up: T0—baseline, T1—20 weeks (wks), T2-48 wks, and then annually.

Results: A statistically significant improvement in HRG (p = 0.0822) and an increase in hair density of 19 +/- 2 hairs/cm2 at T1 after 20 wks (20 wks vs. 0 wks) in the
a targeted area over baseline (74 +/- 2 hairs/cm2 at T1 versus 55 +/-2 hairs/cm2 at baseline) were reported and described as encouraging results.

Conclusion: The effectiveness of MND with LLLT and GFs use was demonstrated in AGA patients.
