Objectives: An overview of internal RF subcision in the management of atrophic and tethered acne scars.
Introduction: Atrophic acne scars can benefit from subcision. This can be performed with cannulas, Taylor liberator, V-Dissector cannula, Nokor needles, and corneal knives. This presentation will deliver a new technique that utilizes internal bipolar radiofrequency to perform subcision and to remodel scars from inside-out.
Materials / method: Acutite, an internal bipolar radiofrequency probe is used to introduce radiofrequency energy into the subcised tissue. Tumescent anasthesia is necessary.
Results: Excellent and long-term remodeling of acne scars is achieved through this method.
Conclusion: Long-term outcomes and patient satisfaction with this procedure have been excellent.
