Objectives: As scar may have a negative impact on self-esteem, attractiveness, and quality of life. It is a must that we find solutions to treat these lesions that resolve the symptoms and treat the actual lesions. A multimodal therapy approach for keloid scars is needed as each of the ingredients and modalities used has a positive effect on scar prevention. In dealing with and managing Keloid scars, these multimodal modalities will aid the current treatment standard to be more innovative in the treatment approach.
Introduction: In the earlier days, Botulinum toxin was primarily seen as the source of botulism food poisoning, poison from the soil found in decomposing food. Currently, Botulinum Toxin A is well-known for its cosmetic indication to diminish moderate to severe facial wrinkles, for face contouring and rejuvenation. In addition to the role of Botulinum Toxin A in the aesthetic procedure is an adjunctive treatment for scars. Botulinum toxin may have an inhibitory effect on scar formation and it allows the removal of muscle tension on the healing wound.
Conclusion: Through this, I’ll be presenting the multimodal therapy approach for Keloid Scars and more specifically, how I have addressed it as seen in my practice.
