Abstract

Objectives: To show that patients have unique Body Fat Problems that need specific combination treatments to address them, delivered in a chronologic step-wise manner based on a Comprehensive Table enumerating available machine treatments, their indications based on mechanisms of action, specific target areas, frequency per week/month, & contraindicated machine treatments that cannot be done on the same day or immediately after a similar machine treatment with the same mechanism of action Introduction: When making a comprehensive Slimming Program using different machine treatments for synergistic action to treat different Body Fat Problems, scheduling can be challenging. General Weight Loss followed by Specific Inch Loss followed by finishing touches like firming, tightening, smoothening and anti-cellulite is the correct manner in making a slimming program for a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule consisting of multiple machine treatments with different mechanisms of actions. Materials / method: Energy-Based Devices consisting of ultrasound, radiofrequency, and lasers have different mechanism of actions. Treatment is aimed from the deeper layer going out to the superficial layer. Target first the deep subcutaneous fat before treating the superficial subcutaneous fat. Similarly, tone the underlying muscles first before treating the dermal layer of the skin. Then again, remove any excess dermal fat before inducing collagen contraction and neocollagenesis. This is easier said than done but by proper scheduling using concrete examples done in our clinics, these ideas are explained. Results: By treating from the inside going out, the success of non-invasive aesthetic machines for Body Contouring and Slimming increases. If abdominal muscles are toned but the subcutaneous fat on top is not reduced, the tummy is still protuberant. The area remains heavy so the muscle will eventually get tired and sag again. Similarly, treating cellulites on top but not treating the subcutaneous fat underneath will be futile since fat will just redeposit causing cellulite again. Conclusion: In making a treatment plan when scheduling machine treatments on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule, the proper chronologic sequence should be followed for a more efficient slimming program. Contraindicated treatments for the same day in the same target area should be avoided. Different machine treatments using different technologies but employing the same mechanism of action should not be done since they will be redundant with no additional benefit but with more chances of complications.
