Objectives: Understand the specificities of ultrasonic rhinoplasty

Introduction: Ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a new way to reshape nasal bones, septum allowing a very precise mobilization and orientation of bones under direct visual control and a sculpting of the bones.

Materials / method: The techniques of ultrasonic rhinoplasty have been developped by the author with specific piezo electric inserts for rhinoplasty since 2013

Results: New options are possible with ultrasonic rhinoplasty in term of control of bone mobilization and reshaping through an extended open (or closed) approach. The techniques are easy to learn and to use. A very precise and atraumatic septal work can also be performed, which is especially helpful for high septal deviations or for the dorsal preservation techniques

Conclusion: Ultrasonic rhinoplasty has revolutionarized the way of doing rhinoplasty, by allowing all the work to be done under direct vision, minimizing trauma and complications, with an easy and reliable procedure

Objectives: To describe a technique for patients with thick skin, the aim is to get a better tip definition, projection and rotation. Very conservative technique, predictable and with a natural outcome. Very didactic presentation, with many diagrams, videos and animations that made it very easy to understand.

Introduction: Most of our patients in Latin-America, the patients with thick skin are very common because of their ethnic background. Many differents techniques has been used for these type of noses. After 20 years in practice, we developed a technique, very conservative steps; preserving the natural cartilage and bone structure, with very natural and predictable outcome.

Materials / method: Videos, animations and diagrams are used in all our presentation, for better understanding of the differentes techniques used.

Results: All presentation will show the technique used in each patients, with photograph pre surgical, and postoperative.

Conclusion: The audience after the presentation will learn and understand the technique that we use to solve the different problems of each patient.
Technique very conservative, predictable results and very natural outcome.

Objectives: Rinoplastia estética y/o funcional por via cerrada.
Mi experiencia.

Introduction: La mayoría de los pacientes que consultan para una rinoplastia estica y/o funcional, están inconformes con su nariz (gibas, alas nasales, laterorrinias, dorsos anchos, puntas mal definidas y mal proyectadas, etc) ya sea por factores de herencia o por traumas previos. La nariz (tanto el tamaño como la forma) es la característica mas destacada del rostro y un procedimiento quirúrgico en ella puede cambiar enormemente su apariencia y su autoestima.

Materials / method: Mediante una rinoplastia cerrada (incisiones internas para separar la piel del resto de las estructuras) podremos reacomodar, resecar, esculpir, remodelar y modificar el cartílago (cuando la nariz es muy larga, mal definida o deforme se esculpe el cartílago para ajustarlo) y el hueso para así mejorar la apariencia estética y funcional de la nariz, logrando armonizarla con las demás estructuras faciales, de tal manera que al cubrirla nuevamente con la piel se verán los resultados de la nueva estructura. Siempre se coloca una férula sobre la nariz para protegerla mientras cicatriza.

Results: Resultados naturales y armónicos.

Conclusion: La rinoplastia estética y/o funcional por via cerrada es una opción ideal para pacientes que quieren mejorar la apariencia de su nariz.

Objectives: To describe the technique to lower the dorsum by keeping the integrity of it.

Introduction: Many techniques exist and are widely used to deal with reduction rhinoplasty. A rationale of why the integrity of the dorsum should be kept and description of the technique is necessary to decide with patients are good candidates for the surgery

Materials / method: Videos, photographs and pre and potop results of the technique will be shown and discussed
