Objectives: Non-invasive body contouring has became the newest hype in aesthetic medicine. Many modalities from hypothermic, hyperthermic, injectable lipolysis to muscle toning became popular modalities in our practices. In this lecture, we look at the modalities in a more objective way and looking at what really works for the asian community.
Introduction: Non-invasive body contouring involves designed selective subcutaneous fat reduction, muscle toning and weight control. However, there are many modalities that do not produce consistent results. We look at how and why these modalities work, and comparing the outcomes among different ethnicities.
Materials / method: We look at what works very well among the asian community, and discuss the possible mechanism.
Results: There are modalities that work better in certain individuals. We also discuss on the combination of modalities for better outcome.
Conclusion: Combination treatments might be the solution to more consistent results in non-invasive body contouring.
