Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the safety and efficacy of low dose oral minoxidil as an alternative treatment for androgenic alopecia, particularly for those who suffer from adverse reactions to topical minoxidil.

Introduction: Androgenic alopecia is a prevalent condition affecting both genders, which is caused by genetic and hormonal factors, particularly the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Topical minoxidil lotion has been the mainstay treatment for over two decades. However, many individuals experience adverse scalp skin reactions, such as dryness, itching, or flaking and limited efficacy

Materials / method: This study included 30 patients with androgenic alopecia under the care of medical professionals. Fifteen patients received low dose oral minoxidil (1.25mg/day), while the other fifteen received minoxidil lotion. Patients treated with minoxidil lotion reported adverse reactions, with 10 of them suffering from dry scalp, itching, or flaking. In contrast, patients treated with low dose oral minoxidil reported mild adverse reactions, with 3 of them complaining of a lack of energy that resolved within 2 weeks of continuing medication. The primary outcome assessed was hair regrowth after 6 months o

Results: The study found that low dose oral minoxidil is a safe and effective alternative treatment for androgenic alopecia, particularly for individuals who experience adverse reactions to topical minoxidil. After 6 months of treatment, 12 out of 15 patients treated with low dose oral minoxidil exhibited significant hair regrowth, compared to only 5 out of 15 patients treated with minoxidil lotion.

Conclusion: low dose oral minoxidil should be considered a viable treatment option for androgenic alopecia.

Objectives: Hirsutism is defined as excessive hair growth in the androgen-dependent region of the woman’s body. It may cause psychological well-being issues like emotional distress, especially among young women. This study aimed to compare results between two hair-shortening methods, shaving beside snipping, in women with hirsutism prior to laser hair removal.

Introduction: Hirsutism is defined as excessive hair growth in the androgen-dependent region of the woman’s body. It may cause psychological well-being issues like emotional distress, especially among young women. This study aimed to compare results between two hair-shortening methods, shaving beside snipping, in women with hirsutism prior to laser hair removal.

Materials / method: In this randomized clinical study, a total of 63 women with hirsutism were included. In this side-by-side comparison, one side was treated with the hair shaving method, and the other side was treated with the hair snipping method. Chin's hairs were counted in 5x5 cm, four times during the study. All data were analyzed by the IBM SPSS version 21 software.

Results: A total of 63 patients (Mean±SD of age: 33.05±8.50 years), were included. In patients treated with the shaving method, the mean hair count decreased from 42.94±9.39 at baseline to 6.40±2.09 six months after the last session of laser therapy (P<0.05). Regarding the snipping method, the mean count of hair decreased from 42.97±9.75 at baseline to 14.94±10.31six months after the last session of laser therapy (p<0.05). At first and 6 months after the last session, there was a significant difference in mean hair count between shaving and snipping methods (P<001).

Conclusion: Based on the results, the snipping method for hair shortening before laser therapy improves cosmetic results. Furthermore, we found that paradoxical hypertrichosis hair after laser therapy was more observed in the shaving method than in the snipping method.

Objectives: Minoxidil is not a new invention, but arguable one of the most efficient hair growth stimulating treatments that exists.

Lack of knowledge about this medication when it comes to females, and fear of side effects, are common reasons to why physicians hesitate in offering this treatment to their female patients.

This presentation includes a step by step approach in how to succeed with both topical and oral minoxidil, and which checkpoints to go through if patients are not experiencing the desired results.

Introduction: Hair loss is often perceived as cosmetic rather than medical, and a common complaint among dermatologists is that patients often turn to cosmetic clinics first for treatment. But even with a correct diagnosis at a dermatology clinic, many physicians are reluctant in treating female hair loss patients with minoxidil. Common reasons to this hesitancy might be fear of side effects and lack of knowledge about dosing and follow ups. This presentation demonstrates the use of topical and oral minoxidil in different hair loss diseases, and what to look for if patients are not experiencing results.

Materials / method: 11 female patiens with different hair loss conditions, diagnosed by the author clinically or by histology, received either topical or oral minoxidil as the only treatment or part of a combination therapy. Follow-up time was up to 18 months. The hair loss conditions were female pattern hair loss, alopecia areata, chronic telogen effluvium and frontal fibrosing alopecia. Evaluation of the results were based on the patients´ own and author´s examination, and pictures taken before and during the treatment. Blood tests and blood pressure were monitored in patients using oral minoxodil.

Results: Visible improvent in hair density and reduction in hair shedding was accomplished. The dosage of oral minoxidil was 0.625 mg daily, and in those receiving topical treatment, the solution was 5% once daily.

Two of the patients on oral minoxidil experienced mild hypertrichosis, in spite of that, they both continued with the treatment. Because of the use of low grade topical steroids, none of the patients receiving topical minoxidil experienced irritative dermatitis.

No serious adverse reactions were reported.

Conclusion: Minoxidil, whether it is oral or topical, is a safe and effective medication to stimulate hair growth, even in female patients. The hair stimulation part is unfortunately often not addressed when treating hair loss diseases, focusing only on hormonal or immunosuppressive options. An integrative part of succeeding with hair loss treatments, is combination therapy, where the reason to hair loss is addressed, as well as stimulating to imcreased hair growth.

Objectives: • Diagnosis of skin hyperpigmentation and patient selection.
• Individualize treatment plan that includes QS-laser as standalone or in combination with other treatment modalities.

Introduction: Treating hyperpigmentation disorders is associated with high success rate. Nevertheless, some patients respond well and fast, while others are untreatable or experiencing adverse events. Even within the relatively narrow scope of benign pigmentary disorders, many factors should be considered, and every patient treatment plan must be constructed accordingly.

Materials / method: My presentation is based on my experience with QS-laser in the treatment of skin hyperpigmentation disorders in diverse Israeli patients with different skin types and ethnic backgrounds. It also discusses the leading articles in the field of hyperpigmentation, and their treatment with QS-lasers.

Results: Benign hyperpigmentation disorders are divided into epidermal (e.g. solar lentigo, etc.), dermal (e.g. melasma, etc.), and mixed. Treatment of every disorder is different and is based on the inherent mechanism that involve its pathogenesis. Moreover, in order to succeed and avoid adverse events, when treating hyperpigmentation, we must respect patient’s skin type, the size and distribution of the lesions, and the quality of the skin in the background. Hence, an individualized treatment plan should be constructed to every patient.

Conclusion: In order to construct an individualized treatment plan we must use different modalities aiding in accurate diagnosis (history, physical examination, Wood’s lamp, and dermoscopic features), understand the mechanism of action behind the EBD (different wavelengths, fractioning the beam, different pulse length, and combinations with other modalities), and minimize complications with prophylactic treatment and patient selection.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the detailed anatomical structures of the superficial part of the masseter and to elucidate the boundaries, locations, and depths of the deep tendon structure within the superficial part of the masseter through cadaveric dissection and ultrasonography scanning of healthy volunteers.

Introduction: There are still concerns about masseteric bulging due to a lack of knowledge about the internal architecture of the masseter muscle. Further investigations are therefore required of the most-effective botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) injection points and strategies for managing masseteric bulging.

Materials / method: Forty-four hemifaces from Korean and Thai embalmed cadavers were used in this study. Thirty healthy volunteers participated in this study. Ultrasonography scanning in both longitudinal and transverse directions was applied to the masseter muscle.

Results: The deep tendon structure was located deep in the lower third of the superficial part of the masseter. It was observed in all specimens and was designated as a deep inferior tendon (DIT). In cadavers, the DIT covered most of the inferior part of the masseter muscle in 50% of cases, and in 68.8% of cases for healthy volunteers. The depth from the skin surface to the mandible in the masseteric region ranged from 15 to 25 mm. The deep inferior tendon was typically located 2 to 5 mm deep from the mandible.

Conclusion: The superficial part of the masseter consists not only of the muscle belly but also the deep tendon structure. Based on the results obtained in this morphological study, we recommend performing layer-by-layer retrograde or dual-plane injections into the superficial and deep muscle bellies of the masseter. In addition, ultrasonography can be used to observe the internal structure of the masseter muscle, including the deep inferior tendon in individual patients. This will help to reduce the side effects of masseteric bulging depending on the structural pattern of the deep inferior tendon.

Objectives: While proposing standard criteria for smile, using HA filler, botulinum toxin, PRP, microneedling and photodynamic therapy, peeling, we described 64 cases for smile design in this study. We propose analysis and injection methods and a novel protocol to correct all types of assymetry, drooping of the mouth corner, reconstruction of dynamic curvature, reconstruction of the smile arc and correction of structures involved during smiling.

Introduction: Increasing social influence is one of the most important reasons for the desire for aesthetic treatments. Lips as a component of the face have the ability to influence social relationships. In this article we will tell you how to design lips for a smile.

Materials / method: 64 cases - 54 women and 10 men - who visited an aesthetic clinic for lip filler injections from April 2022 to November 2022 underwent smile design with our proposed protocol. We evaluated the aesthetic outcome. Since we thought that aesthetic doctors might imagine how justified it is to perform this procedure, we examined two other criteria for the first time: Evaluating the necessity of this protocol after the procedure by participants and evaluating the recommendability of this protocol to others.

Results: Symmetry, smile arch, lip movements, treatment satisfaction, suggestibility and side effects were investigated. 85% very satisfied, 10 percent reported good satisfaction and five percent reported poor satisfaction with the results. 95% described it as an excellent offer and 95% considered it recommendable.

Conclusion: Lips are one of the most important components of the face in social communication. Smile as an indicator of trustworthiness, social influence and selective advantages of the face. In this study, we introduced a non-surgical, simple, efficient and recommendable protocol with satisfactory results.

Introduction: Fillers are one of the most frequently used beautifying products, with lips being the first and most popular area for correction. Young doctors, nurses, and dentists usually start their professional way with this facial area. We will not talk about mild side effects, such as bleeding, swelling, lip asymmetry, and reactivation of herpes simplex, which are common for all lip augmentation techniques. Our goal is to determine the safe and effective way for the most popular technique, Russian Lips. Here's what we need to know about Russian Lips.

Materials / method:  
The Complications:
 
1. HA filler misplacing above the lips ("Homer Simpson Lips"): multiple superficial vertical injections can cause migration of the product after a few months. The treatment is to inject hyaluronidase with ultrasound detection of dermal filler.
2.Bumps/lumps: Multiple superficial injections cause the Tyndall effect and visualization of the dermal filler, particularly in the mucosal area.
3.Delayed Granulomas/Nodules: A rarely cited late complication of lip augmentation. The enveloped filler material may resist degradation and remain sequestered in the macrophages.

Results: Tips and tricks
1.The treatment is to inject hyaluronidase with ultrasound detection of dermal filler.
2. Treat M-shaped lips and patients with gingival smile with BoNT before augmentation with dermal fillers.
3.Choose dynamic . Choose dynamic products and don't inject too much volume.
4. Be careful with the depth of injections. Use thin 30G-31G needles and always pay attention to the injection layers and the amount of product.
5. Don't mix different brands of dermal fillers in the same area if the last session was less than six months ago.

Conclusion: Filler injection for soft tissue augmentation is a satisfactory procedure with very modest results despite high expectations. However, as the number of indications and performance increases, the number of complications also increases. It is important for physicians to know facial anatomy and high-risk regions. The experts of filler injection must be familiar with each filler material, the injection techniques, and the potential complications. We summarized rare complications after lip augmentation that can help clinicians avoid these problems successfully.

Introduction: Rapid advancement in artificial intelligence (AI) and its recent application to the breast augmentation calls for a short review of current status and future prospects.

Materials / method: Review of AI tools like Crisalix, BreastGAN, ABS is performed. Followed by challenges faced such as legal liabilities, geographical/ ethnic differences and lack of comprehensive dataset. In addition to these, issues around patient privacy, and regulatory framework and future perspectives are explored as well.

Results: Future advancement in AI will allow doctors to automate the actual operating procedure with less human interference, better outcome and more satisfaction to patient.

Conclusion: It is envisaged that the AI related concerns will be resolved in a comprehensive and timely manner to make it both a viable and attractive solution in the field of breast augmentation and other aspects of aesthetic surgery.
