Objectives: To understand the effect of neuromodulator for attractive skin
Introduction: Apart form conventional purpose of neuromodulator, such as treatment dynamic wirinkles, enhancing skin quality with toxins is also very popular procedure in asian countries.
Materials / method: There are several mode of action mechanisms of multiple intradermal toxin injection. The first is depressor muscle paralysis. By this mechanism, we can suspect the eyebrow, jowl, mouth angle lifting and pore tightening with arrector pili muscle paralysis. The other main mechanism is decrease exocrine activities. Sebum and sweat gland inhibition via SP, acetylcholine decrease, we can expect the pore tightening, sebum decrease and acne, rosacea improvement.
Results: From my recent clinical study with INCO., I could verify the objective pore tightening, sebum control, jowl lifting effects after 1 week and all the effects was maintained until 12 weeks.
Pore treatment is actually not easy, but toxin is one of the effective methods. Pore reduction with neuromodulator is very simple, shows immediate effect and synergy combination with other modalities such as MFU-V, fractional RF, HA or other diverse skin boosters.
Conclusion: Unfortunately, it needs high cumulative doses. This procedure needs single high doses, frequent injection intervals, and is popular among relatively young patients.
Additionally exact intradermal injection is important for natural results, which affect only superficial layer of facial muscles. But intradermal injection is more immunogenic than deeper injection, because dermis contains more dendritic cells which facilitate antigen capture.
Therefore, using pure toxins without complex proteins, unnecessary proteins is very important to prevent immunogenesis.
