Treating different body areas with noninvasive 1060nm laser and six-month follow ups

Objectives: 1060nm diode laser is a hand-free body contouring device that reduces fat cells by delivering the energy through 1060nm laser and causing the rise of temperature up to 42-47 degrees within the subcutaneous fat during a 25-minute treatment.
Usually, the improvement begins in 4-6 week‘s time after a treatment session, and reaches its peak in 2-3 month’s time. Due to the nature of the energy, skin quality improvement is also frequently observed. In addition, the fact that the applicators of the devices can be arranged to fit the body area to treat further broadens the device‘s application.

Cryolipolysis versus HIFEM as a body countouring procedure

Objectives: The objective of the study is to compare efficacy of Body Contouring technologies specifically cryolipolysis and HIFEM. Cryolipolysis and HIFEM .Body Contouring is defined as an process of altering the shape of the body in order to improve personal appearance by invasive or noninvasive methods. Body Contouring can be achieved by reducing fat pockets,skin tightening and cellulite reduction and improving muscle contours.
We try to study cryolipolysis and HIFEM as standalone technologies and satisfaction on combining them..

Introduction: HIFEM( High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Energy.) leads to Supramaximal contractions of muscles which increases the muscle mass by 16% subcutaneous fat by 19.The this leads to hypertrophy of muscle fibres and hyperplasia of some .The HIFEM leadsto increase in Free Fatty Acids breakdown leading to cellular stress called as endoplasmic stress.
Cryolipolysisis a non-invasive cooling of fat cells to selectively induce lipolysis without damage to surrounding tissue or structures..It works on stubborn fat depots and reduces the fat layer by 20-25% in 3 months.

Materials / method: Cryolipolysis Treatment We conducted a study on 246 subjectsfrom September 2013 till July 2017. Average cryolipolysis cycles done for each subject were 8.55. s. Review photography was done at 4,8 and 12 weeks post cryolipolysis.
We treated total 14 subjects with HIFEM from December 2019 till September 2020.Out of 14 subjects,we treated 10 with HIFEM alone and 4 with HIFEM and Cryolipolysis in combination.Patients received four treatments of HIFEM total of 4 sessions over 2 weeks.The patients evaluation was done by Patient Satisfaction Scale and Photographic assessment.

Results: Evaluation of the patients treated with only Cryolipolysis or HIFEM or HIFEM&Cryolipolysis both was done by Patient Satisfaction Scale and photographic assessment. Patient Satisfaction Scale consists of five levels.Level 5 is maximum satisfaction and Level 1 is dissatisfaction.
Cryolipolysis alone- level 5 for 35% of subjects,Level 4 for 45% while level 3 for 20%. HIFEM alone- Level 5 for 50% of subjects,Level 3 for 30% while level for 20%
HIFEM AND Cryolipolysis both-Level 5 for 75% and Level 3 for 25% .

Conclusion: HIFEM improves the definition of abdominal area and also reduces the stubborn fat pockets.It also improves the curvature,toning and lifting of gluteal area .
Cryolipolysis is an effective modality for body sculpting and useful to reduce pockets of fat. This technology has high level of patient satisfaction.
HIFEM and Cryolipolysis when used in combination give higher patient satisfaction for Body Contouring compared to either of the modalities alone.We would suggest from our experience to do cryolipolysis before the HIFEM treatment to perceive better results.

The combination therapy with a monopolar RF device and a direct bio-EMS device for body contouring in Asian patients

Objectives: To examine the effectiveness of the combination therapy with a monopolar radiofrequency device and a direct bio-electrical muscle stimulation device for body contouring in Asian patients.

Introduction: The popularity of non-surgical procedures for body sculpting is growing. Both fat reduction and muscle enhancement are important factors for body shaping, but their treatments are still considered emerging procedures in Asia-Pacific. We present results from twenty patients treated in our clinic using combination therapy for abdominal body sculpting protocol.

Materials / method: We conducted a prospective study from February 2020 to June 2020. 20 Japanese patients were treated, each of whom received one treatment for RF device for abdominal fat reduction and five treatments for EMS device for muscle enhancement 1 week apart. We measured subcutaneous fat thickness, internal oblique muscle, outer oblique muscle, and transverse abdominal muscle with ultrasounds during inhalation with no tissue compression at baseline and 2 months after the last treatment., as well as body weight and digital photographs.

Results: We treated 20 patients in the study with an average age of 31.6 years old, ranging from 25 to 55 years old. Most patients were female (80%). Mean baseline body weight was 59.2kg (range: 43.7 – 81.1kg) with an average weight loss of (-0.59kg w.r.t. baseline) at 12 weeks post three treatments. Average reduction in subcutaneous fat thickness was 15.6%. Average increase in outer oblique muscle, inner oblique muscle and transverse were 40.4%, 41.9%, and 43.1%, respectively. No adverse events were reported.

Conclusion: Using this nonsurgical body-sculpting protocol, we safely treated abdominal subcutaneous adiposity and muscle enhancement in our clinic.
