Objectives: Understanding

- the cellular regulation of fatty tissue through the recently discovered 'A-regs' (adipose regulatory cells)
- functional roles of fatty tissue in the body
- mechanical versus enzymatic processing of fatty tissue

Introduction: Scientific understanding of fatty tissue regulation and technical progress in fatty tissue processing are currently developing - and may open up completely new avenues of fatty tissue treatments in the future.

Materials / method: The functions of the newly discovered 'adipose regulatory cells' and their potential implications in future treatments will be outlined - ranging from volume control of fatty tissue to metabolic disorders and even 'browning' of fat.

Results: Modern fatty tissue treatments are
- integrating simplified and less costly mechanical processing options
- evaluating biological ways to regulate fatty tissue activity and volume
- making the use of fat and SVF less costly and compliant to current regulatory requirements

Conclusion: Research is currently opening up completely new treatment avenues in fatty tissue modulation - which may result in a change of our practice from 'transfer to regeneration to modulation'.

Objectives: To review the scientific basis of cell therapy for aesthetic applications.

To understand the mechanisms by which cells communicate in the regenerative process of antiaging anesthetic applications.

To improve the quality of practice by implementing these technologies for the purposes of clinical translation.

Introduction: Since the implementation of cell therapy for cosmetic procedures, outcomes have improved tremendously.

Many conditions such as solar elastosis, pigmentation abnormalities and collagen damage have been noted during the aging process. With the incorporation of cell therapy, physicians and healthcare practitioners have been able to reverse the signs of aging with the use of cell therapy and regenerative medicine principles.

This evolution will be discussed in detail during the lecture.
