Objectives: Actually the requests of body volume augmentation and specially buttock augmentation are increasing from the patients and since now the most known procedure are mainly surgical .
Implants and Fat Transfer despite the popularity sometimes develops a not satisfactory result for migration of implants or fast fat resorption . Moreover the risk of infection and unsuccessful result are always high in those two surgeries whenever are performed from not skilled surgeons and in complete sterility . Today it's possible to achieve the sane result with Macromolecular HA avoiding the surgery .
Introduction: HA has a long report in Aesthetic medicine and during the years has shown to a be safe and easy treatment . Body hyaluronic acid has some specific characteristic different from the face filler more depending from its molecular architecture and size. Body Volume augmentation can be performed with this product giving an other choice to the patient.
Materials / method: The newest large molecules of HA are safe and not reacting in the tissue and assure the volume for long time in all part of the body and specifically on the buttock area. The treatment to achieve a good result in terms of volume is easy and safe . The procedure doesn't need an operating room or special surgical instruments. The patient can be treated with a light local anesthesia in the entry point of the cannula . The treatment can be repeated after few weeks until the desired result is achieved. The reabsorption observed is 50% of the whole implant during 18 months .
Results: Using this kind of HA it's possible to extend this procedure to the greater part of patients , even the ones are not accepting a surgery . The knowledge of the anatomy the right technique of injecting is important have the better result. During the last year we injected more than 1800 syringe of 10 ml each one and not infection or foreign body reaction resulted , the only adverse symptoms described where inflammation , bruising slight pain and soreness for less than one week. The patient satisfaction has been high and more than 50% asked for an other treatment to achieve the desired result.
