Objectives: Elaborating the importance of applying clinical dermatological diagnosis before any procedure of tissue ablation.
Discussing the role of dermoscopy and other cutaneous imaging techniques in early detection of skin cancers and other lesions before performing any aesthetic ablative procedure.
Introduction: Aesthetic procedures are very common nowadays and are unfortunately not usually performed by specialized practitioners, hence the need for proper skin examination for any skin lesion before ablation is of utmost importance nowadays.
Materials / method: Review of literature is performed discussing all possible means by which the specialized practitioner has to make sure of the nature of the skin lesion he's dealing with before performing any ablative procedure.
Results: Definitive diagnostic criteria can be seen in many skin lesions by non invasive cutaneous imaging modalities, at least using such contemporary methods can raise the need for cutaneous pathological assessment to eliminate the risk of malignancy or potential hazards of any gives skin lesion before performing any ablative procedure.
Conclusion: Non invasive cutaneous imaging modalities topped by dermoscopy are currently the golden corner stone in assessing any skin lesion before performing any ablative procedure.
