Objectives: How can we analyze pigmentation based on objective assessment methods?
Introduction: Changes in skin color provide important clues to disease progression or response to treatment. The assessment and perception of skin color is often subjective.
Conclusion: Skin pigmentation analysing tools must be quantitative and independent of the observer and the skin color. We present our daily practice using different techniques including Wood's light, dermoscopy, reveal imager and colorimetry.
