Objectives: A numerous amount of female patients seeking breast reduction for optimal breast size and to achieve a pleasing shape showing the signs of femininity. However the postoperative results weren't always pleasing
Introduction: The authors describe a new concept of hybrid breast reduction surgery that combines the usage of breast reduction techniques and autulogous microfat graft as a sort of hybrid surgery to maximize the outcome and results.
Materials / method: A total of 124 patients were treated over a 2-year period. This new approach was used with a group who underwent breast reduction
and microfat grafting to augment the upper pole.
Results: Postoperative evaluation showed that there were no cysts, masses, or fat necrosis, presumably because the recipient site was not overloaded with fat .
A higher percentage of the volume of graft injected persisted at 1 year, because of its minute form which is a Microfat form.
Conclusion: The issue of upper pole management in reduction mammoplasties has been a dilemma over the past years. Several studies were implemented to deal with the upper pole aiming to achieve the best fullness and projection
The problem of loss of upper pole fullness and loss of the smooth harmony in the Decollette region can be solved by adding MFG in a fashionable manner to fill these areas and give fullness & projection
