Objectives: By comparing the groups of the patients taking mesotherapy+diet and diet alone, we aimed to see the effectiveness of mesotherapy on local fat reduction process. In literatMany patients being on just diet complains of not much local slimming of their special body areas like abdomen, hip, legs, in spite of loosing remarkable weight.
We designed to study to find out the answers of questions of "Does really mesotherapy works for local adipose tissue dissolution or not clinically?" and " Does really mesotherapy can be regarded as an alternative noninvasive local injectable therapy to liposuction.
Introduction: 146 female patients with local fat excess whom have no other medical pathology and also not taking and kind of medications were accepted to the mesotherapy group in our Dermatology Clinic Center. The standardized 15 cc formula containing 2cc of each procaine, alcochopha, mellilotous, carnitine, silicio organico anf 5 cc of deoxycholated phophotidylcholine was injected by the same physician with 13mm needle in sessions, to abdomen, waist, hip, thigh and knee regions. At each session tanother physicians measured the anatomic body circumferences. Both groups were given standard diet 1500-1700kcal
Materials / method: Both study groups were statistically similar to each other in terms of age height, beginning weight with unpaired twotail student t The study was planned for six mesotherapy sessions weekly.The standardized 10 cc formula containing each 2cc of procain, alcachopha, mellilotous, silica organic was injected with mesotherapy gun with 13mm needle by the same physician to the waist, abdomen, hip, thigh and knee regions. at each session another physician was measured the anatomic circumferences. Both groups were analyzed by the dietician each week in terms of weight loss and adipose tissue reductio
Results: The mesotherapy+diet group and the diet group were both evaluated after 6 weeks of treatment according to their fat mass loss (kilogram), total reduction in anatomic circumferences (cm) of body areas. The mesotherapy+diet group is found to have significantly higher scores than the diet only group in terms of fat mass difference, total circumference reduction and decrease in waist, abdomen, hip, thigh circumferences in with unpaired two tail student t test. Tere is no significant difference obtained between treatment groups in terms of weight loss and knee circumference reduction.
Conclusion: As a conclusion of our study, mesotherapy can be regarded as an effective method in body countering and local thinning process and also a good noninvasive alternative treatment to liposuction.
