Introduction: Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by brown or gray-brown patches, typically on the face. It's more common in women ( 99:1) and often associated with hormonal changes, sun exposure, and genetic predisposition.
Key factors involved in Melasma development include UV radiation, hormonal influences (like pregnancy or birth control pills), and certain medications.
Melasma tend to fade away post menopausal period
Materials / method: A full presentation over the current and future methods will be given and discussed
Conclusion: It's important to note that melasma can be persistent, and treatments may only offer partial improvement. Regular follow-up and combination therapies tailored to individual needs and skin types are often necessary. As treatment responses vary, ongoing research continues to optimize and discover new therapeutic avenues
Thus photoprotection, maintenance therapy and/or retreatment should be applied.
