Clinical interests include men’s and women’s anti-aging and aesthetics, as well as laser applications. He specializes in cosmetic dermatology in oncologic patients. He has been studying quality of life in cancer patients and the cosmetic and quality of life effects of treatment. He also conducts cutting edge research on the use of non invasive imaging of the skin as well as non surgical treatments of skin cancer. Anthony actively utilizes reflectance confocal microscopy to help delineate borders of melanoma or nonmelanoma skin cancers before surgery or to guide non surgical treatments. A research focus is to apply this technology to image nonmelanoma skin cancers both in vivo and ex vivo to help better delineate subclinical margins. He has published multiple book chapters and reviews on surgical dermatology, skin cancer, and cosmetic dermatology. Presently he is studying non invasive imaging to enhance the laser ablation of skin cancer. Laser ablation is a feasible method to destroy cutaneous tumors it is not specific in its target. Additionally, Anthony is active in the dermatologic organizations and is a board member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He continues to advocate for patients and medicine. He also works internationally and uses teledermatology to continue connections.
