Objectives: Transgender individual who require the growing beard may have optional treatments ; hormonal replacement, medical stimulation and hair transplantation. We would like to review each modality with the pros and cons and in short and long term.
Introduction: For transmasculine individuals, beard growth is primarily influenced by testosterone hormone replacement therapy (HRT). While not everyone experiences the same level of beard growth, testosterone can stimulate the growth of facial hair by triggering a second puberty. Genetics also play a role, with those from families with a strong history of beard growth having a higher likelihood of growing a full beard.
Materials / method: Systematic review of the transgenders with growing beard hair by all means: hormone, medical stimulation and hair transplantation
Comparing the good and bad effects toward each treatment.
Conclusion: Transgender individuals should openly discuss their concerns about hair growth with their healthcare providers, including dermatologists, to explore treatment options and manage any distress.
