Objectives: Learn how to use biological proteins

Introduction: There are 3 types of biologic proteins that are injectable: lipase, collagenase and hyaluronidase.
They stimulate metabolic reaction, form and degrade substances. Besides, they are injected for different purposes: The lipase degrades triglycerides, the collagenase degrades and stimulates the formation of collagenous and the hyaluronidase makes a remodulation of the dermis.
Diverse pathologies can be treated by them. Among those there are: burns scars, acne scars, remodeling face, cellulites among other pathologies.

Materials / method: There are 3 types of biologic proteins that are injectable: lipase, collagenase and hyaluronidase.
They stimulate metabolic reaction, form and degrade substances. Besides, they are injected for different purposes: The lipase degrades triglycerides, the collagenase degrades and stimulates the formation of collagenous and the hyaluronidase makes a remodulation of the dermis.
Diverse pathologies can be treated by them. Among those there are: burns scars, acne scars, remodeling face, cellulites among other pathologies.

Results: I will present three different treatments: remodeling facial, sebaceous cyst, cellulites..

Conclusion: In this lecture, the different techniques employed to use them, for the sake of arriving at the longing results, will be presented.

Brazilian lip filler technique - Wonderful and natural results

Introduction: The demand for lip filling has increased a lot in the past years. Once the demand for the procedure increases, poor, unsafe and ugly outcomes also increase.
For these reasons knowing techniques that are safe and that provide natural, expressive and beautiful results becomes very important.
In addition, knowing techniques that decrease discomfort also becomes preponderant. With safety, painless procedures and good results, the result will be satisfied patients who will certainly return to the clinics.

Materials / method: Demonstrate through photos or live application the technique I use to fill lips safe and painless.

Results: The way I perform lipfiller gets very beautiful results, natural, expressive and above all, safe and pain free.

Conclusion: It s very important for professionals who perform aesthetic procedures to improve techniques in order to perform procedures safely, without pain and with results above the average. This way, success will inevitably come.

Layered HA filler technique for volume restoration in the temples

Objectives: - Understand relevant anatomy for safe injection in the temples
- Review a 2 layer injection technique for efficient volume correction in the temples
- Modify key learning points to adapt to individual patient-specific anatomy

Introduction: Temporal hollowing is a classically under appreciated area of concern when treating the aging face with hyaluronic acid fillers. With gentle volume restoration the frame of face can be developed allowing for a softer and more harmonious approach to panfacial volume restoration and a more healthy rested appearance. Several options for filler choice and injection technique are available.

Materials / method: The technique described within uses a 2 layer placement of two types of hyaluronic acid gel fillers. The deep injection consists of sharp needle bolus deposition of a high G prime filler for initial volume correction followed by a superficial fanning technique using a blunt cannula from a single access point hidden at the hairline.

Results: Volume correction in the temples is easily and safely attained with this technique with minimal complication risk when using proper technique. Patient satisfaction is high as well.

Conclusion: The layered HA filler technique described offers an effective and very efficient way to provide restoration for temporal hollowing. With an understanding of pertinent anatomy and review of technical pearls this injection technique can be safely incorporated into the practice of most injectors.

Dermal fillers and their radiological patterns

Objectives: Injectable cosmetic facial rejuvenation treatments are increasingly popular. However, all types of injectable facial fillers can cause complications. Thus diagnostic imaging is a valuable tool for the identification of the type of filler and complications. In the present study patients with facial fillers were studied by MRI and CT to identify different dermal fillers, their location, extent, and possible complications. The study indicates that facial fillers may be identified by radiologic imaging. Therefore it is important to be familiar with the radiological patterns of fillers.

Introduction: Cosmetic facial rejuvenation treatments with dermal fillers have been growing exponentially, and so have their complications. The facial fillers to be detected always pose a diagnostic challenge because the patient may not be aware of their facial filler injection history. Diagnostic imaging is a valuable tool for the identification of the type of filler, adverse events, and complications. Thus professionals need to know which diagnostic procedures are required to identify said adverse events and complications. Radiologists also need to know the radiological patterns generated by the filler.

Materials / method: Twenty one patients who underwent facial treatments with dermal filler were examined. All subjects were scanned by MRI, using highly specific face-oriented sequences at high resolution and thin slices across the axial, sagittal and coronal planes by T1, T2, STIR and Silicone-only sequences. Patients who had been treated with calcium-Hidroxyapatite were studied by Computed tomography. The radiological results were compared against clinical data provided by the referring professionals.

Results: In all cases both the dermal fillers and their complications were clearly identified. These radiological results were compared against clinical data provided by referring physician .

Conclusion: The molecular nature of the different types of facial fillers offers a characteristic imaging fingerprint, and will show a distinct radiological pattern in the different radiological modalities that provides a reliable diagnosis. Diagnosing key imaging features of commonly used fillers and filler-related complications are of paramount importance nowadays.

Non-surgical treatment of the nasal tip

Objectives: 1) Understand the vascular and structural anatomy of the nose
2) Understand proper nasal analysis/ examination
3) Understand filler augmentation and toxin placement techniques and strategies for minimizing complications in the nasal tip
4) Understand how to identify and treat non-surgical rhinoplasty complications

Introduction: Non-surgical rhinoplasty has become an increasingly popular "off-label" treatment in recent years. Potential complications from this procedure can be devastating in nature without the proper knowledge of nasal anatomy and limitations of non-surgical treatment. Much focus has been on camouflaging nasal humps; however, neglecting the appearance of the tip simultaneously often leads to an unnatural and aesthetically displeasing appearance. Non-surgical tip augmentation is important in preventing the nose from appearing too long and the tip too droopy when treating the hump alone.

Materials / method: In addition to nasal anatomy with focus on the tip, the presenter will discuss his treatment protocol including:
- patient selection and nasal assessment
- anesthesia
- product selection and injection technique (including video)
- post-operative instructions
The presenter will then review potential complications in varying stages of presentation and the management of those as well.

Results: The presenter will show several examples of non-surgical rhinoplasties with focus on tip management. Product selection and placement will be discussed with each example.

Conclusion: While camouflaging nasal dorsal humps with filler can produce an excellent aesthetic result, failure to recognize proper tip aesthetics can lead to suboptimal outcomes. The nasal tip anatomy is complex in nature, and its relationship with the nasal dorsal aesthetics cannot be ignored. Nasal tip augmentation should be considered in any patient undergoing non-surgical rhinoplasty.

My personal approach to the correction of asymmetries and reshaping of the lips with measurements and 3D images

Objectives: The aim of this study is to show the effectiveness of the treatments with hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers for both the correction of the asymmetry and the reshaping of the lips.

Introduction: The face is the area of the body where our identity is most expressed and the lips play a central role in the beauty and harmony of the face.

Materials / method: The study was carried out in subjects with different lips asymmetry. The treatment was performed with a dynamic Hyaluronic Acid (HA) dermal fillers with these characteristics: 23 mg/ml, 3.6% BDDE and 0.3% lidocaine. The RHA was injected using an electronic device. The volumetric changes were evaluated with a 3D camera. Moreover, a questionnaire was submitted to patients to assess the degree of the treatment satisfaction and the result obtained.

Results: The Author shows the results obtained with her own approach in the correction of the asymmetry and the reshaping of the lips and the patient satisfaction.

Conclusion: This approach for the treatment of the asymmetry and the reshaping of the lips using a dynamic HA dermal filler, has allowed to achieve an immediate, complete and harmonious aesthetic result. Moreover, the use of the electronic device has led to perform an accurate, safe and more comfortable treatment for the patient.
