Objectives: Emerging treatment modalities for hair loss include injectable platelet rich plasma (PRP), low-level laser therapy (LLLT), microneedling and oral nutraceuticals.

Introduction: Topical minoxidil and oral finasteride are the gold standard therapies for AGA and the only two drugs currently that have US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved indications for the treatment of hair loss.

Materials / method: Several peer reviewed studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of these methodologies although no standardized protocols exist to date. A new trend of combining therapies in order to achieve maximum results.

Results: Several new treatment therapies including lasers, PRP and topical/oral cosmeceuticals are showing promising results in treating hair loss in both men and women. Combination approaches using PRP with fractional lasers and/or microneedling can increase the efficacy of these new treatment modalities.

Conclusion: New generation of treatment modalities show promise as therapeutic options for hair loss.

Objectives: Understanding the various minimal invasive treatment modalities of androgentic alopecia and the role peptides may play in the future for this indication

Introduction: Androgentic alopecia (AA) is one of the most important cosmetic indications in man. The current therapies all have limitations. Some, e.g. finasteride, may have severe side-effects, others only have minor efficacy. One of the new treatment options in AA are injections with peptides. This therapy named 'hair fillers' has recently been introduced and may pose a new era in the treatment of AA

Materials / method: Hair growth is a complex process, but in recent years it has become much clearer how the pathophysiology of AA comes about. From this, the potential targets for therapy are also identified.

Results: The process of identifying peptides for various cosmetic applications is rapidly unfolding, also for alopecia. Each peptide identified targets a different area in the pathophysiology. A mix of these peptides is now used for injection therapy

Conclusion: Injections with a mix of peptides can provide a new therapy for AA, although much has to be studied before the the definite place of hair fillers in the armamentarium of AA can be fully assessed

Objectives: What's new in non-surgical hair restoration? Comparing treatments like minoxidil, mesotherapy, AC therapy, PRP and stem cell therapy.

Introduction: A lot of treatments are provided for increased hair growth. The most important is to get the right diagnosis to meet the patients individual needs.

Materials / method: Hair loss caused by tension can be fought using botulinum injections (AC therapy), thinning hair can be reactivated with the mesotherapy in combination with drips and androgenic alopecia (hereditary hair loss) can be treated with the innovative stem cell therapy or PRP therapy, wich could be shown in several clinical studies.

Results: Showing the latest studies and comparing it with the own clinical experience of one of the biggest hair restoration clinics in Germany.

Conclusion: Get to know the algorithm to get the best treatment against hair loss.
