Dr. Miguel A. Aristizabal Torres is a dermatology resident at Mayo Clinic in Florida with prior specialty training in aesthetic medicine and academic interests in dermatologic surgery, aesthetic dermatology, skin cancer, and artificial intelligence.
He completed residency training in Aesthetic Medicine at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia, with a focus on minimally invasive and noninvasive aesthetic procedures for the face and body.
Before transitioning to postgraduate medical training in the United States, Dr. Aristizabal Torres served as co-founder and medical director of ADEI Aesthetics & Dermatology Institute in Bogotá, where he practiced aesthetic medicine, participated in clinical research, and collaborated with the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in educational and advisory roles.
He subsequently joined Mayo Clinic in Florida as a dermatology research fellow and is now completing his dermatology residency training there. His current academic work focuses on cutaneous oncology, dermatologic surgery, transplant dermatology, aesthetic dermatology, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. His research has included applications of artificial intelligence in dermatologic diagnosis and surgical reconstruction, risk stratification of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in solid organ transplant recipients, and skin cancer prevention.
Dr. Aristizabal Torres has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international scientific meetings, and received recognition for his academic and research work. He is also pursuing graduate training in artificial intelligence in healthcare, with the goal of integrating emerging technologies into dermatologic practice, education, and surgical care.
