Objectives: To compare the efficacy and cost-benefit between the use of PDO threads vs Calcium hydroxylapatite for the treatment of rejuvenation, lifting and contour of the lower third of the face.
Introduction: Aging process is the result of morphological and physiological changes occurring in the skin, skeleton, and facial adipose tissue, ligaments, and muscles. A prominent labiomandibular sulcus, the jowl deformity and submental laxity are frequent findings as a result of changes in fibro- connective tissue arrangement, the stability of mental ligament that serves as hammock for the fat with each compartment (superficial and deep).Jawline reshaping has become an indispensable component in lower face rejuvenation and different techniques and procedures are used to achieve harmonious results.
Materials / method: Pictures and evaluation/assessment of the anatomy, comparative tables and examples of different techniques using both calcium hydroxylapatite and PDO threads.
Results: Before and after in patients who have received one of these treatments
Conclusion: Lower third reshaping has become an important component of modern facial rejuvenation. Mastering different procedures and techniques is indispensable to achieve good results and both patient and physician satisfaction
