Objectives: To teach how to evaluate the patient for non-surgical rhinoplasty and how to treat regional elements that will improve outcomes of the technique.
Introduction: Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a very satisfying procedure for both the injector and patient. Understanding the capabilities of non-surgical rhinoplasty and applying surgical principles enhances the outcomes of treatment.
Materials / method: Patients requesting non-surgical rhinoplasty are informed of the risked and benefits of treatment. We prefer an HA filler with higher G prime and more crosslinking for the structural changes. In addition to nasal injections, the pyriform fossa and the glabella are considered. In addition, tip elevation is performed using “liquid columella struts”.
Results: Careful analysis and treatment provide excellent outcomes in the majority of patients. Patients having prior surgery require a more careful approach because of concerns with embolization. Pyriform augmentation to reposition the nasal base and “liquid columellar struts” for nasal tip elevation have been highly effective.
Conclusion: Non-surgical rhinoplasty is an amazing procedure. Understanding the dynamics of movement of the nasal tip as well as the influence of the pyriform base have markedly improved our results. Safety is paramount and ultrasound may provide additional reassurance to the injector.
