WHY do we turn a blind eye on HAIR BEAUTY?

Introduction: ALOPECIA IS ONE OF THE MAIN DERMATOLOGICAL PATHOLOGIES:
1. At the very least EVERY SECOND WOMAN WANTS to have thick, beautiful and healthy hair.
2. MOST MEN who face the problem of hormone-dependent hair loss, WANT to stop this process right from the start.
3. According to open sources, around 5% of all dermatologist patients are visiting
a doctor with alopecia problem. However each patient with alopecia faces the difficulty of correcting it with standard approaches to therapy.

Materials / method: For the last 9 years in we have successfully used in our clinical practice various biotechnological techniques: PRP-therapy, as well as skin rejuvenation with autologous fibroblasts. Since 2016, we have also been using SVF therapy. During this period, thousands of patients with various types of alopecia have been successfully treated.

To assess the effectiveness of various types of alopecia therapy, we used various types of evaluation and data processing. The obtained data formed the basis of successfully defended dissertation research work.

Results: Biotechnological techniques - are one of the most promising methods for the treatment of alopecia. Their competent combination with topical therapy, the correction of hormonal (BHRT) and mineral balance, the level of vitamins - already today provides tremendous opportunities in the treatment of alopecia.

Conclusion: Biotechnology is a tool that must be necessarily implemented in the clinical practice of each specialist in the field of hair health.

Objectives: 1: Diagnose Alopecia Androgenetic
2: Formulate a tailored approach to each individual Alopecia ANdrogenetic
3: Manage alopecia androgenetic with combination therapy of Minoxidil topical 5% solution and platelet-rich plasma injection

Introduction: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common cause of hair loss, affects up to 50% of women and 80% of men over the course of their lifetime. It is known to advance with age and menopause. Current treatment option has limited degree of clinical improvement. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment modality that has gained popularity due to its autologous nature, minimal invasiveness, and absence of major side effects. Interestingly, further studies have revealed that combining PRP with other current treatment may enhance the final performance of the treatment.

Materials / method: We present a 56 years old Balinese woman with chief complains hair thinning in central area of the scalp. It’s started when she had menopause 6 years ago and getting worse annually. Physical examination found notable diffuse thinning on the vertex (central) area of the scalp. A hair pull test was negative. Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score is 10. Sinclair’s scale is stage 3. Trichoscopy presence of white dots, variation of hair diameter, miniaturized and vellus hair. The ratio of terminal and vellus hair was 3:1. We diagnosed with Female Pattern Androgenetic Alopecia (FAGA).

Results: The treatment chosen was combination therapy of minoxidil 5% topical solution 2 times per day and platelet-rich plasma subcutaneous injection on affected scalp area every month. The result evaluated with macrophotographic protocol and using dermoscopy for microscopic details evaluation. After 1 session of therapy, there are remarkable decreased of hair thinning and increased hair regrowth. There are also decreasement of SALT score and Sinclair’s stage. Microscopic evaluation in the same area (vertex) presence increasement of terminal and vellus hair ratio.

Conclusion: Our case demonstrated that combination therapy might have a beneficial role in the treatment of FAGA. Longer duration of evaluation and standardization of PRP preparation are needed to determine its clinical efficacy.
