Objectives: A Case of Tyndall Effect & Malar Oedema.

Introduction: Complications of Mid-face Filling are quite commonly represented in practitioner submissions to IMCAS Alert.
Materials / method: A recent case submission to IMCAS Alert https://www.imcas.com/en/academy/alert/injectables/2807/tyndlle-effect
concerning a case complication of Tyndall Effect resulted in much worthwhile discussion and some debate ampong responding collegues.
Results: This presentation explores the aetiology, risk minimisation and management of these common mid-face filler complications.
Conclusion: Optimal anatomical filler placement and rheologically appropriate filler choices are fundamental to minimising malar oedema and Tyndall effect.
