Objectives: The classification of the vascular lesions is based on the clinical feature, natural history, and cellular characteristics of the lesions. Accuracy in the classification of the vascular lesions is therefore essential in order for clinicians to correctly diagnose and treat these lesions.
Conclusion: The presentation gives an update on the classification of the vascular lesions. Acquired vascular lesions such as telangiectasias, venous lakes, cherry angiomas and pyogenic granulomas are highlighted. Besides, vascular anomalies, including infantile hemangiomas, capillary, venous, lymphatic, and arteriovenous malformations, are described with emphasis on characteristics and differences.
