Objectives: Upper face toxin injection is a very common aesthetic procedure in the world. The Asians have less wrinkles over upper face compare with Caucasians. The usual dose for periorbital wrinkles in Asian is much less than Caucasian. In some condition, the same dose of toxin periorbital should be considered in Asian patients.
Introduction: According to the ASAPS annual statistic review, neurotoxin has been the most popular cosmetic procedure worldwide for over 20 years. Neurotoxins have dozens of applicable indications across many disciplines, and this list is expanding every year.
Materials / method: One of the on-label uses of neurotoxin is the treatment of crow’s feet, which was approved by the US FDA in 2015, with a suggested dose of 12 units per side.
Results: In multiple articles, however, this dosage was adjusted to a lower level in Asian patients, for two main reasons. First, to prevent a frozen-looking appearance, and second, to account for anatomical structural differences between Caucasians and Asians.
Conclusion: In this talk, I will present the clinical result of different doses for crow’s feet treatment with neurotoxin in Asian patients.
