Objectives: Two very interesting but diverse cases will be presented from the the IMCAS Alert Injectables & Threads collection of almost 600 submitted cases:
1. Vascular complication after fat injection into the temples?
2. Diagnosis and Management of "Sad Eyes" following Botulinum Toxin injections.
The presenter will outline the two aforementioned cases to the expert panel and collegiate audience for further analysis and comment.
Introduction: Case 1. "Vascular complication after fat injection into the temples?"
The temporal region is a complex region for injectable fillers (either fat or manufactured). In the subject case submission, the complication of regional tissue damage & marked hair loss is explored by the submitting author and responding colleagues.
Case 2. "Diagnosis and Management of "Sad Eyes" following Botulinum Toxin injections"
Distinguishing Botulinum Toxin (BT) -induced brow ptosis from BT-induced blepharoptosis can be a clinically challenging, especially in the context of an underlying dermatochalasis.
Materials / method: Submitting authors and a chorus of enthusiastic responding colleagues analyse, explore and at times debate the diagnoses and management of these two challenging case presentations with the altruistic objective of assisting the submitting colleagues.
Results: Expedient assistance by responding colleagues assisted the submitting colleagues in resolving complications arising out of the two subject cases.
Conclusion: The diagnosis and management of complications in complex clinical cases can benefit from the assistance and support of a clinician's peers. The two cases presented demonstrate how positively functional the IMCAS Alert platform can be, especially when a timely resolution is an imperative.
In that regard, colleagues contribute from around the world facilitating responses at any hour of the day or night.
