IPS has been formed in 2012 by international group of physicians dedicated to the field of chemical peels. The Society targets to teach and promote the methods and applications of chemical peels for both medical and esthetic purposes. Among the goals of the Society are development of clinical guidelines for better and safer use of peels, setting of appropriate quality standards and initiation and clinical research in this field.

Combination peels for difficult melanosis

Objectives: Chemicals peels on skin of colour.

Introduction: Chemical peels on skin of colour is always challenging due to the unpredictable nature of the skin besides difficult to recognise erythematous skin or reaction at times. PIH is a relevant problem for Fitz Patrick skin type 4,5 and 6 but due to the higher number of competing Melanin cells its always challenging as all such cases has to be handled with caution even with experienced aestheticians.

Materials / method: The talk is going to be about the various do's and donts of peeling skin of colour along with certain suggestions.

Chemical peels for skin of color

Objectives: In this lecture, I will be discussing chemical peeling techniques and combination chemical peels that I use to address a variety of skin issues in skin of color.

Introduction: Chemical peeling has long been a part of a dermatologist’s practice. It is done to improve skin quality and texture and remodel the skin. It is also used to treat several skin conditions, such as acne vulgaris and pigmentation through regeneration of the epidermis.

Materials / method: This procedure is more often done on the face, however, treatments are now being done on other body parts as well. Also, single peeling agents, proven to be safe and effective, were often used but more and more research show that combination peels are also safe, effective and may offer superior results than single peels.

Objectives: Describe which types of peels are used to treat melasma and hyperpigmentation in skin of color

Understand treatment protocols for chemical peels for melasma and hyperpigmentation in skin of color

Understand the data supporting the use of chemical peels to treat melasma and hyperpigmentation

Introduction: This lecture will review chemical peels for melasma and hyperpigmentation in skin of color. Treatment protocols and clinical pearls for skin of color patients will be discussed. We will also cover clinical studies demonstrating the efficacy of chemical peels to treat melasma and hyperpigmentation.
