Objectives: Correction of A-frame deformity is not only the restoration of the volume, but also of the proportions of the ‘golden ratio’ of the upper eyelid.
The main task of minimizing gummy smile is to create the new shape of upper lip’s inferior border and harmonious proportions of the lips, teeth and cheek borders.
Introduction: A-frame deformity may be a variant of the anatomical structure of the orbit, or the feature of aging, or the result of aggressive blepharoplasty.
Gummy smile occurs in 10% of the population and is a frequent reason for visiting a cosmetologist.
Materials / method: Subcutaneous injection level is safe, the amount of product is 0,1-0,15ml of the HA.
Hyaluronic acid requirements are: spreadability, mouldability, small microsphere size, low water uptake and gell swell, optimal lift capacity.
Cannula technic preferred.
For correction of gummy smile, it is advisable to use four basic variants of the combination of hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin. Correction algorithms are presented.
Results: This correction of A-frame deformity is both anti-aging and harmonizing.
Gummy smile correction results depend on anatomical features, lip length; functional activity of the perioral area and the middle third of the face; the type of smile.
Conclusion: Minimal injection dosage provides a significant aesthetic result.
