Dr. Poonpissamai Suwajo was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She obtained her medical degree and plastic and reconstructive surgery residency training from Chulalongkorn University. She is now a staff and lecturer at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Chulalongkorn University. Her mentor is Dr. Preecha Tiewtranont, who is a pioneer in sex reassignment surgery in Thailand. Dr. Suwajo has ten years’ experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with special interest in transgender surgeries. She is familiar with sex reassignment surgeries especially in male to female such as penile skin inversion with/without scrotal skin graft, colonic vaginoplasty and peritoneal vaginoplasty. She is a member of Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand, Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, The Society of Aesthetic surgeons of Thailand, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She now also works for the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand as an educational committee member.
