A Professor of Dermatovenerology at Bahir Dar University,
bringing a 20 years wealth of experience and expertise to his field. With a
Master's in Public Health and a Ph.D. in Global Health and Dermatology, career spans both academic and administrative roles.
My professional journey includes:
Serving
in various capacities at Bahir Dar University, from department head to the
dean of the medical college.
Holding
a prominent role at the Federal Ministry of Health (MOH) of Ethiopia as
the Director for Human Resource Administration and Development, where he
spearheaded a ministerial initiative focused on enhancing the quality of
health professional education nationwide.
Being
actively involved in diverse areas such as outbreak management,
community-based research, operational research, and clinical trials. His
research contributions encompass 42 papers published in esteemed
peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
Contributing
expertise and leadership in numerous global health organizations and
initiatives, such as the International Alliance for the Control of Scabies
(IACS), International Society of Dermatology's Climate Change Committee,
International Alliance for Global Health Dermatology (GLODERM), and Amref
Ethiopia.
Involvement
in critical global health projects, serving on the WHO Strategic and
Technical Advisory Group for Neglected Tropical Diseases, vice-chair of Wello
University board and vice-chair of the national NTD Research Advisory
Committee for the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.
Additionally, I remains actively engaged in training
initiatives, having been an alumnus of the TDR lead Structured Operational
Research and Training Initiative and facilitating operational research training
for South East Asia and Africa.
