Objectives: To explain the rationale and show a simple technique for deep plane facelift
Introduction: Introduction: The deep plane facelift is a powerful technique to restore ligamentous laxity of the mid-face and neck. The major concerns with this procedure have been associated with fears of facial nerve injury.
Materials / method: Materials and Methods: The anatomic rationale for performing a deep plane facelift is reviewed. The step by step method of addressing the deep plane in the mid-face is demonstrated.
Results: Results: Patient examples of deep plane facelift combined with other treatment modalities will be shown.
Conclusion: Conclusions: The deep plane facelift is an important component of facelift surgery and serves to reposition the pre-masseteric ligaments and correct jowling, while at the same time, the lateral superior vector on the platysma corrects the jawline.
