Objectives: To explain and define nanofat and to demonstrate the best uses of this mechanically dissociated stromal vascular fraction.
Introduction: Nanofat is a name coined for a type of mechanically produced stromal vascular fraction (SVF) product derived from fat. Different devices produce different nanofats and generally, it is well accepted that more cells and cell aggregates lead to the best outcomes.
Materials / method: Nanofat will be defined and several devices that make the nanofat will be compared for cell output and viability. Several techniques of nanofat application will be presented including microneedling, sharp needle intradermal injection and nanofat topical biocream.
Results: Case examples will be used to show the effect of nanofat on skin wrinkles and texture.
Conclusion: Cell optimized nanofat is a powerful, but inexpensive means of introducing regenerative medicine to practice. Improved wound healing after lasers, better hair growth and maintenance as well as improved outcomes of facial surgery have been shown with nanofat.
