Objectives: Manage the long term results of rejuvenation treatment
What is the role of energy-based devices?

Introduction: There are various kinds of non-surgical treatments for rejuvenation. Energy based devices, injectables and threads become very popular in our aesthetic medical fields. We already know effect of injectables and thread are temporary and should be performed regularly. How about energy based devices? It goes without saying that devices are safe and effective for rejuvenation. However, it’s not available to achieve equivalent efficacy compared with injectables and threads. Now we should consider about long term results, “anti-aging” results.

Materials / method: I reviewed the photos before and after treatment for the last 20 years and analyzed what treatment is most effective for keeping youthful appearance.

Results: Although I did not always get good results by using energy-based devices, I found that it was effective in preventing sagging for over a decade.

Conclusion: Energy-based devices can give heat damage to human tissue and induce collagen synthesis by wound healing process. Collagen is "magic phrase". Most of patients believe that energy based devices can prevent aging. How about the quality (not quantity) of collagen?
Our final destination is “regain and keep patient’s youth for a long time”. What is the best treatment? What is the key point? I have been looking for an answer.
