Objectives: So, are you a Facebook fan or an Insta aficionado? Do YouTube videos rock your world, or do you invest your time tweeting? Are you spending a sufficient budget on boosts, ads and promotion to get your content seen by more eyes? Is Snap Chat on lift support now? How are you handling patient communications in the age of online portals and changing norms? What safeguards have you put into practice to avoid getting into trouble? It can be increasingly challenging for physicians to navigate these waters, especially since changing algorithms arise all the time.
Introduction: In 2019, many more practices have assigned a staff member to handle their social activities or at least to help maximize the benefits. Still others, enlist external agencies to take over the process, and many use a combination of both. There is no right or wrong here; each practitioner should consider the best route to success for their individual needs. As social media becomes more complex and time-consuming, we are seeing more practices devote a significant percentage of their marketing budget and time and staffing to this quickly evolving category.
Materials / method: Social media channels offer new and exciting ways to connect with patients of all ages who use this medium to access health information and communicate with their physicians. Although younger patients have traditionally been more comfortable communicating with their physicians directly on social media, they are not alone anymore. Everyone from millennials to seniors are now online and looking for aesthetic practitioners for all their needs.
Results: In this 10-minute talk, Wendy Lewis will walk you through 10 innovative tips for getting the most of your social media investment, and actually seeing results that can move the needle for your practice, as well as pitfalls to avoid.
Conclusion: Social media has also now become global and patients in every region are active on specific channels that practices need to be active on too. Patient privacy varies around the world, in terms of photos, images, and postings, which makes it critical to understand and respect your local health authority guidelines now. Attention shall be given to the current thinking on how to play it safe.
